Ed Begley Jr. will be speaking on Saturday, April 16 at 12:30pm.
When it comes to taking personal responsibility for the environment, few individuals can match the record of actor and activist Ed Begley, Jr. Known for turning up at Hollywood events on his bicycle, he has served as chairman of the Environmental Media Association and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. He serves on the boards of organizations including the Thoreau Institute, the Earth Communications Office, Tree People and Friends of the Earth. His work has earned both praise and awards from numerous environmental groups including the California League of Conservation Voters, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Coalition for Clean Air, Heal the Bay, the Santa Monica Baykeeper, the Southern California Gas Company and the American Lung Association. Currently, he is the co-star of the hit Planet Green series Living with Ed, a look at the day-to-day realities of “living green” with his not so environmentalist wife Rachelle Carson. His book Living Like Ed is currently available nationally from Clarkson Potter / Random House, and his new book Ed Begley, Jr.’s Guide to Sustainable Living also from Clarkson was released September 2009.

Captain Paul Watson will be speaking on Saturday, April 16 at 2:00pm.
Over the years, Watson has exhibited a remarkable diversity in his activism. Aside from being a co-founder of Greenpeace in 1972, Greenpeace International in 1979, and founder of Sea Shepherd in 1977, Watson was a Field Correspondent for Defenders of Wildlife between 1976 and 1980. He was a field representative for the Fund for Animals between 1978 and 1981, and a representative for the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals in 1979. He co-founded Earthforce Environmental Society in 1977 and Friends of the Wolf in 1984. Watson's first affiliation with the Sierra Club was in 1968 and he has remained a Sierra Club supporter ever since. Watson was elected to the National Board of the Sierra Club USA serving as a director from 2003-2006.

David M Cohen recently joined the Energy Upgrade team after managing the outreach and marketing implementation for a number of energy-efficiency programs for NYSERDA, FirstEnergy, and Nevada Power while employed by the consulting firm SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation). Recently transplanted from New York City, Mr. Cohen comes from a background in commercial real estate development, construction, LEED certification, entitlements, marketing implementation plan creation, and brand management of various aspects of the real estate.

Dr. Raymond Hall likes to know how things work. He‟s one of those people who can just look at something and mechanically deconstruct and re-build it in his mind. Eric Corey Freed is principal of organicARCHITECT, an architecture and consulting firm in San Francisco, with over 15 years of experience in green building. Eric teaches the Sustainable Design program he developed at the Academy of Art University and University of California Berkeley Extension. He is on the boards of Architects, Designers & Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR), Green Home Guide and West Coast Green, as well as the advisory boards of nearly a dozen other organizations.
Gregory Wendt will be speaking on Friday, April 15 at 2pm on the Eco Entrepreneurship panel and on Saturday, April 17 at 3:30pm on the Sustainable Investing panel.

Lauren Rank began her County career working in the Department of Regional Planning’s Advance Planning Division. At the Planning Department, Lauren worked to develop and adopt the County’s Green Building Program, a groundbreaking set of ordinances with the goal of making new development more sustainable within unincorporated areas of the County.

Linda worked for 28 years as a Superior Court Reporter in Orange County. She is a self-described environmental activist, co-founder and past president of Plug In America www.pluginamerica.org where she continues to serve on the board.

Mike Kane spent over 20 years as a marketing and business development professional in the high-tech industry, including stints at Emulex, the semiconductor division of Rockwell International and Motorola. Since leaving the industry in 2004 to pursue personal interests including environmental and alternative fuels advocacy, he has been involved with several non-profit organizations and campaigns in these areas. Mike is one of the founders of Plug In America, a non-profit advocacy group that promotes the use of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Ray Drysdale will be speaking on Saturday, April 16 at 3:30pm.
As Founder of GREEN1, Ray Drysdale brings a diversified, highly successful 20 - year professional background to the Green Cleaning Industry. Prior to the GREEN1 venture, Ray was an executive involved in the development of the digital call tracking and recording industry, as well as localized search engine marketing to the Automotive Industry. For the majority of his career, Ray served as Vice – President of Sumitomo Bank’s Automotive Division, one of the world’s largest banking entities.
In love with electric cars since 2003, Richard has experience driving
both conversion and OEM highway-speed vehicles. As head of IT at Plug In America, Richard worked the technical side of many public campaigns to influence plug-in vehicle legislation.

One quarter Cherokee, Tamara is Miss Arkansas USA 1997. Tamara paid for her Broadcast Journalism degree by competing in pageants. She won awards for her mind/body/spirit work in a program she created "Preventive Health through Whole Person Wellness." She continues that work today with a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology with an emphasis in Consciousness, Health & Healing.
I have been an environmental activist, researcher and organic food activist for over 25 years, teaching and speaking to large audiences from coast-to-coast. My passion for “green living” and “green eating” led me to start a non-profit foundation called Organic Food For Life along with a healthy, fast food alternative franchise restaurant called VegiTable. In 1988, I started a non-profit foundation called Organic Food For Life with the goal of educating local farmers as to the importance of organic growing versus commercial growing.
